Why don't some people realise that the only way to make America great again is to bring back the 60s, bring back the hippy movement

and bring back Woodstock? At the very least, why don't the powers-that-be try it and see?

Well there is a small Island across from Vancouver Island. It wasn't populated until the 60s when hippies/draft dodgers moved there. It's a pretty peaceful and almost crime free place so bringing back the hippy movement might be a good thing. Cheers and happy weekend!

@NosmoKing no, you think so?

For me,

Banter is friendly, smart and witty, the kind of thing you do with chums,

Trolling, is to deliberately attempt to rile someone up.

I promise my intent was the former. I do not come here for strife.
Pardon my misintention.

Even Dylan had to move out of Woodstock.

I know what you mean, but it is also used in the "I have to get out of here" sense. @NosmoKing

Ahhh yes, the air was thick with the smell of patchouli, pot, and hypocrisy.
GardenSage · 36-40, M
@puck61 well there's nothing wrong with patchouli or pot ...

And everyone's a hypocrite at some point
@GardenSage True that. I grew up in the thick of it, and I am just about positive the term hippie probably came from a shortening of the word "hypocrite". I was at sky river, and I was at the Green Parrot Goat farm just before they all got lead poisoning! Tepee's, sweat lodges and mescaline tea, and wildness beyond description until I finally ran away when I was 14 to find some semblance of normalcy! The music was wonderful, and the idealism was wonderful, but the whole thing was just the infancy of the deadly poisonous crap that we see now.

They did woodstock a couple times since '69... it was pretty much a disaster everytime

The powers that be are The People. The People created the movement then, and the onus is on The People to create a counterculture now if they so choose.

But what you’re actually seeing is multiple countercultures popping up and it’s creating a more dynamic meta-culture, but with a diluted power-dynamics with each group individually.

It may not look like it, but it’s a step towards societal equilibrium.

That would be great, but minus the drugs this time. That was a mistake.

I'll just settle for the 30% unionization rates.
