How much do u love extinction?

Seagulls were also common 30 years ago in the sacrameto, ca area. Now they are absolutely gone from the Sacramento area. The same can be said for magpies, robins, and valley jays. Quail were common in Arden Oaks 40 years ago and now are almost entirely gone including from the American River bike trail. Snakes, frogs, toads, praying manteses, snails, worms, pill bugs, and nearly all insects are nearly gone with the exception of ants. Crows flew by the 1000's in the mid 70's through early 80';s but now it is rare to see more than 7 or so. Some spider offspring were so common a couple generations ago that the air used to be thick with their strands. The last time that happened was in 76 or so.
I read estimates that 99% of the species that ever existed are extinct. Also that species that seemed to disappear from the fossil record sometimes reappear later or elsewhere.

The only birds I see around here now are pigeons. Not even a sparrow.

@hunkalove Denver Airport, what do they have there?
hunkalove · 61-69, M
@cherokeepatti I dunno. Never been there.

@hunkalove Probably would have to have an airline ticket to get in and tour it. I’ve seen photos.

Yet in Ireland and in the UK they're having problems with seagulls harassing people as there is so many of them

I have a family of blue jays that come and live in my back yard every summer. My cat catches different species of birds that I have never even seen before! We have all kinds of beautiful birds up here in Northern Alberta

Why are all these birds going extinct in California? Could it have something to do with aerial spraying of aluminum and other stuff?
@SW-User In San Francisco alone..... in 2018, there were 28,084 reports of people shitting in the street.
@cherokeepatti It causes Parkinsons. It is destroying the bees too.
