I always kinda figured from 2-4 am is the most dangerous time in terms of dangerous people. Not afraid of the dark - just of who's hiding from the light.
By 4 am - most of the people who are up to no good are exhausted and/or sleeping off whatever gave them the bad dude mojo. (I figure).

@Mamapolo2016 It's normally scary after dark because that's when most crimes usually occur and 3 AM is marks the start of the supernatural.

i'm more aware when it's dark. the case of The Golden State Killer has made me very wary, even while inside my own home. btw, he was recently caught after a 42 year manhunt, and booked on National DNA Day, which is how he was finally discovered.

It's not the dark I am afraid of, lots of crazies out there. And there is a neighbor's house I wont walk by at dusk as he has bat houses in his yard. Don't like bats.

I have. Wouldn't go out at 2am in Baltimore for instance, but in a less urban environment no issue.
It’s the best time of any day. Peaceful. Anonymous. Invisible.

@SeriouslyFlippant I feel the same. It's more calm and serene
