"It's lonely at the top." Agree or disagree.? Why?

YoungDawg66 · 56-60, M Best Comment
Agree ... people always try to ‘get a leg up’ by blowing smoke up your ass or by pumping you for that inside info ... gotta watch, your best buddies will use you and never think twice ...

@YoungDawg66 Agree with this.

[c=#359E00]no. You can use all your wealth and influence to get every entertainment you want, it won't be lonely[/c]

@YukikoAmagi My question didn't negate that all people feel lonely sometimes but simply questioned if the old adage "lonely at the top" correct.
@Tomorrow [c=#359E00]still no[/c]
Tomorrow · 56-60, F
@YukikoAmagi And I still disagree.

I personally will never know. But looking at the top guy in America, it doesn’t look like he’s so lonely. So many dignitaries sucking up to him.

Agree, can't trust anyone around you
HannahSky · F
You lose your friends.
Tomorrow · 56-60, F
@HannahSky If you lose them because you see success, were they ever really friends at all?

Agree. Money kills friendships

Agreed .. for I wrote "Attaining the peak of Everest is easy, compared to remaining there all alone" ..

@in10RjFox Agreed
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
I would agree. People start seeing you as competition or an ATM.
Tomorrow · 56-60, F
@DearAmbellina2113 I am sure that's true.

Yes. You cant make decisions based on your popularity. The greater good is the key.
GoldenWorm · 51-55, M
The "top" can stop whining. They have more power and resources to get what they want.
Jack4054 · M
It is and this is why people keep coming back down.
Tomorrow · 56-60, F
@Jack4054 Are you on your way up or your way down?
I suppose it is. But it’s lonely at the bottom, too.
Tomorrow · 56-60, F
@bijouxbroussard Agreed Bijoux. Maybe for different reasons, but the result is the same.
Bushmanoz · 56-60, M
hmm..It's lonely on the whole damned scale
Tomorrow · 56-60, F
@Bushmanoz I have to agree with you.

@curiosi Yes and no. I agree to some extent, but I can't whole heartedly agree. Sometimes people are skilled communicators with no certain misunderstood or accepted views but simply feel they are unimportant to the world around them.
curiosi · 61-69, F
@Tomorrow Perception
Tomorrow · 56-60, F
@curiosi Even if only perception, it doesn't change the fact someone feels lonely.
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
It depends on what kind of person you are. Personally I wouldn't let my success define me, I'd keep it secret. I'd go out as an average joe and try to communicate.
