Have you ever confronted someone for cutting in front of you in line?

MellyMel22 · F
[c=#BF0080]At the waterpark there were men with a kid skipping the line saying they were riding w/someone. After the second time which they flew by so quick, I saw two women who I knew was with them try to do the same. I put my arm up and snapped. I told them there was no way they were going ahead of us. They tried giving me the same story the others volunteered the first time. I told them I didn’t care and that they were gonna have to wait just like everyone else. They backed down the stairs and ran their mouths in another language, prob embarrassed they were still standing ahead of the line behind me that they cut. I told them to speak in English if they were so tough. One had the nerve to wait a few minutes and yell they had a right to be there b/c they paid like everyone else. I told her it didn’t give her a right to cut lines just as it didn’t for anyone else. They stood there like kids pouting 😆 Two young girls behind me were thanking me and said they cut them off earlier doing the same 😒 [/c]

@MaryJanine [c=#BF0080]Thank you. It is pretty sad some feel they're better and don’t respect others. It’s never been an issue anywhere in the past. Kids it’s kinda more expected, but still very wrong. Adults, and adults teaching children it’s okay- God help those kids, they’re being raised that young to not be fair respect others.. [/c]

@MellyMel22 My mother raised four kids, and none of us were permitted to push and shove to be first on anything. We were raised to respect our turns on rides or places like your water park. Where did that generation go to?

@MaryJanine [c=#BF0080]Wish we knew.. I have four as well and teach mine the same. [/c]

Yes, but it need not be a "confrontation." I simply say, "The line begins back there", and the person usually apologizes and moves. I start with the assumption that it is an honest mistake, and my tone reflects that.

@DrWatson they really arent....until someone tries to jump in!! People do in general just stand and wait for as long as it takes. In other European countries, people are not so polite and barge.....and the Brits all come out of the woodwork and start moaning hiw bad mannered everyone else is!! Lol

@RubySoo It's not very cricket of them, is it???
RubySoo · 56-60, F

was in line for a Black Friday sale and most of the people in line was there for the TV's of which they had limited quantity. (I was not there for the TV's by the way) I saw a man pay another man to let him cut in line. The store paid police officers to patrol the lot. I told one of them and he made both of them not just get out of the line but leave the parking lot. He did not say who informed on them. When they left, the entire line cheered.

No. Usually people are not that horrible. But I have invited people behind me in line with very few items to go in front of me.
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@4meAndyou In grocery stores here, that is pretty common. We do that for each other.
curiosi · 61-69, F
No, it's just not worth it. Let them go.

@curiosi I didn't confront the person who cut in front of me but when I finally got to the cash register i mentioned it to the cashier and she gave me a free soda and thanked me for not making an issue out of it.

Yes but in a nice way
Sure ! At other times I've let someone in before me if they only have one or two items they want to buy and I have more.
MaryJanine · 61-69, F
Too often. That's why I shop Peapod once a month. They deliver!
