The new Google Images format is absolutely atrocious. Thanks for ruining something good, Google.

I just tried an image search to see what you were talking about, and it certainly is different. It'll take a little for the shock to wear off, so I can give it a fair appraisal. But as of this moment, that appraisal doesn't look like it'll be promising.

Oh gowd yeah I see what you mean. They did totally fuck youtube up though so it's not like there's no precedent. :-/

Idk why they had to mess with it, it's just annoying now

What about it is arocious ?
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@Madelenie The fact that it displays the image in some goofy looking sidebar that severely limits the preview size and chops off landscape images or resizes them to make them tiny. There was nothing wrong with the old layout; it worked great. But like most things that users enjoy, the company always has to make a conceited effort to take it away.

@BlueMetalChick since there was no differences on my phone I had to take my laptop to see the matter. So, as a freelance designer I kinda like this side bar, it’s better for comparing reference pictures I’m looking for. BUT the weirdly chopped off landscape annoys me soooo damn much.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@Madelenie That, and the fact that when you click on a related image, it brings up its own set of related images. So if you wanted to go through the list of relateds on an image, you lose it every time you click on one.

What is new about it?
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@SW-User When you click on an image, instead of opening it in full size underneath the thumbnail, it opens it in a highly compressed small version in a weird ass sidebar on the right of the screen.

@BlueMetalChick ah, that must be a desktop thing. I didn't see anything different on mobile. But that sounds pretty bad indeed.

Totally agree!

Yep ... I'm hating it.
