I've been watching Everybody Hates Chris lately and I must say I'm kind of confused about one thing

Is the whole entire Brownstone thing their house because it depicts people knocking on the door to like their living room sometimes but that pretty much means now there's a bunch of strangers in their hall way can someone please explain

Originally they were one family houses, then neighborhoods changed and the houses were divided into apartments. Some have been turned into small condo buildings if additions were permissible and others are turned back into single family houses.

Its split into apartments, thats how brooklyn was. Nowaday ppl are buying them and turning them into 1 families.

@Dave2001 nowadays ppl are doing that, brooklyn has been going thru a rebirth or so im told. I have friends living there its what ppl are doing now.
