Ever hear of the Indigo Children?

In the 80's this was a big thing with the so- called New Age movement. It suggested that some kids were being born with superior knowledge or gifts, supposedly highly evolved.

I was very opposed to the idea. 1. Because there was no real evidence of such a thing.
2. It could have led to behavioral problems with the "Indigo" thinking he/she was superior to a peer group. Also, a lack of esteem or a sense of failure for not reaching unrealistic expectations.

Ever hear of this?

Yes, unfortunately I have; I live in southern California, the home of such nonsense. The fantasies of the New Age people run wild here; they have too much time on their hands and enough money to afford all those silly seminars.
@greenmountaingal So. Ca. and Sedona Az. Sedona being one of the most beautiful spots in the world spoiled now by a population it cannot support and overrun by new age wacko's.

@Grateful4you Thank you for giving me Best Answer. I last saw Sedona, AZ in the late 1970s and it was beautiful. I guess I won't be going back!
@greenmountaingal There are still great wilderness areas outside of town and winter isn't too overwrought with tourist. And you're welcome for BA!

I have, I didn't buy into it either. I felt if given the right circumstances that all children have that potential.
@dragonfly46 That was my stance as well.

@dragonfly46 Nah, some kids are born dumb

Star children
@abe182 Or "Star seeds" all basically the same.
abe182 · 46-50, M
@Grateful4you all the same.
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
@abe182 Depends on which seminar you attend or which book you've read.

Yes. Everytime I see a video about them they're either normal children or they have a learning disability that the parents deny exists.

Heard of it? I am one!
@Quizzical Hmmm...🤔

Sounds a lot like when they give children gifted and talented titles
I hadn’t actually. But it would’ve been a huge mistake to raise kids that way, for the reasons you stated.
