Would you go against someone who had been a big help to you in the past? If you felt they were going the wrong way? Would that be a betrayal?

If you see someone is headed for trouble, you can warn them, but you don't tell the world, nor join them. A true friend always tells the other friend the truth. 😊

I would and I have. If you can't trust your friends to confront you out of concern.....who can you trust?

Doesn't matter. A true friend will confront the tough issues....they will tell you what you NEED to hear, not just what you WANT to hear. The method of friendship.....if its a valued friendship should never matter. Truth even when uncomfortable is still truth.

@FORMERLYbatovn erm I was talking about a senior at work who's not actually a friend. He was a boss of mine in the past and he helped me out in a tough spot because as according to him I had worked sincerely for him and he owed me a favor. I have never had a one-to-one talk with him like a friend would with another friend. I don't know if he can call me a 'friend' or whether I'm in a position to advise him. We don't share that kind of relationship. 🤷‍♀️

Has he asked for an opinion? Is it something that you've had experience in? Would you offering unsolicited advise jeopardize the work situation? Will it have adverse effects on your job, his job, or the jobs of others? The answers to these questions should help you determine a good course of action.

Loyalty should not include letting someone corrupt you. Friends earn being friends, not from some past deed but by their actions in the present.
i would tell them privately before i opposed them publicly

if you care, you owe it to them to point out their shitty ways

In the end, we all must follow our heart.

No, never. I will help wherever I can... even if I can’t.
