Your question is in two parts. First, who owes who money.? Second, which nation relies on the other to complete things it makes for local consumption? In both cases. the US needs China. To produce all sorts of "American made" articles, including cars and large appliances.

@whowasthatmaskedman The US uses china, as they are a huge opportunity to exploit...but we could definitely get by without them. We'd have to adapt, but could do it. 😉

@ISpeakTheTruth I'm from iowa. The trade negotiations have not impacted farmers yet. If any farmers are filing bankruptcy it is from other causes...weather, flooding, even high fuel prices. For several years, the small guys are getting out...simple economy of scale. But has nothing to do with china trade.
