Are electric cars a better purchase in terms of price and longevity?

They're still quite expensive in general, and the battery technology isn't yet adequate for our needs in comparison to gas engine and hybrid cars in terms of convenience and speed of refueling. But the technology is getting there, and the prices are dropping. In less than 20 years it may very well be the superior choice of vehicles.

No their a lot more expensive still than petrol or diesel they still can breakdown and they still can rot as much as any car .When they make them so they don't break down or break or rot and cheap enough for the average working person to buy then they will be a better purchase .
In my opinion, they are not. They are of poor quality.
