By the way everyone with mental illness is painted with the same "tar brush". If someone is mentally ill, there is a difference between someone who is slightly affected and someone who is a danger to himself/herself or others, to the point of committing suicide or murder or talks about it. These individuals must be watched and cared for. No pills or guns should be in easy access for them. Knives too.

A mental illness patient, through a technicality, gets elected president.

It’s definitely NOT being romanticised!!

No, not at all. It's being stigmatised if anything.

Chemical imbalance is a myth made up by big pharma. Doctor's know this, they go along with it however as they don't want to give up the gravy train.
@curiosi I'm sorry but it is not a myth. I have testing and crippling depression to prove it.

@curiosi how do u explan schizophrenia
curiosi · 61-69, F
@SW-User Schizophrenia is not a chemical imbalance. It's like the brain is swiss cheese. Not the same thing.

Ah, the "prince charming" that comes to save the depressed lady? Or she loves him even though he's a bit odd (crazy)?
Too bad so many people think that mental illness equals craziness...
MaryJanine · 61-69, F
I don't. I used to live around the block and across the street from a decrepit mental health facility, and I wasn't scared when people climbed the fence and walked down the street in their underwear or pajamas. (There were several.) My parents gave me to understand most of the people in there needed to be cared for. They were always found and returned when they walked out the front door or over the fence.
