Can you hypnotize a foreign exchange student to believe he/her is actually just a lost treasure hunter?

That should make a rather interesting reality telly show. Especially, if the watchers could make suggestions to the producers in form of their own treasure maps and silly, nonsensical, hints about the location of the next clue.
