What’s the point in irrelevant compliments?

Maybe this isn’t a common experience for everyone, but it is for me and I find it incredibly annoying.
I often get messages/comments complimenting me on things I don’t even really have to compliment. The most common is when guys will tell me that I have “big boobs.” Not only do I not have any photos that really display my chest, but... I just don’t have that. I realize they’re not big, that’s okay - I’m just a small person. So why guys tell me that they’re big is beyond me - and it’s certainly not a good compliment.
Recently I had a guy message me and ask if I “work out like constantly” even though, again, none of my photos imply that I’m super fit.
I also get guys who ask me if I model - as if that’s some achievement. Even though I have no professional photos - they’re all selfies from my iPhone and that’s pretty obvious.
Sorry for the long post, this is just one of those things that I don’t get. Why compliment someone on something that’s not even relevant to them? Is it just a shot in the dark - trying to say anything “nice” in hopes to get their attention? If you have brown eyes and someone tells you your blue eyes are pretty.. how is that a compliment?
Maybe I’m just getting confused by something that has no logic to begin with. Still, it’s a weird thing that happens to me often. Just felt like venting about it.
It's a shotgun in the dark. Fire off enough pellets in a wide enough spray and eventually you'll hit something.

Yes, it's mostly to get your attention, get their foot in the door. Especially when it's tossed around like confetti, here. Mostly people flatter for themselves, not us. Because they want to feel good or be liked.

Hmm.... Well it's certainly that they want your attention and think your cute.

Although apparently they pay no attention.

@Tarxarin
There’s nothing wrong with trying to get someone’s attention, and I agree that’s likely what they’re after. But the method of it is so strange to me. You’d think if you really wanted someone to talk to you, you’d say something that would warrant a positive response - and not make it seem as if you’re oblivious to any detail about the person.

@KatieKatze Sometimes men singularlly focused ao they can't see anything they want. Doesn't matter what the reality it's just in their head.

I get there is nothing wrong with interest in someone. But they are being strange.

you have nice big boobs
I can see you work out a lot!
You must be a model!
Lovely blue eyes!

Some guys will say anything to try to start a convo. 😂 I’d start a message like you like cats 🐱 also? 👍

You do have very blue eyes. That's all I have for now

@abe182
Well, at least you’re not wrong.

@KatieKatze I'm not sure why guys do that. The over zealousness is indeed annoying. Nice legs btw 😂

I think it's called hitting on you 🤔
Nice kitty 😐

@MartinTheFirst
Thank you for that brilliant commentary.

@KatieKatze it's not commentary, it's a reaction, and it's me laughing.
