Shit like this is why Alabama is always the butt of the joke

4meAndyou · F
I can see both sides of this for Alabamians. On the one hand, it is a huge Christian state, and they are actually walking the walk instead of just talking the talk (pretending to be Christian), like most people do. So you've got to hand it to them for bravery on that front.

On the other hand, the only reason they are arguing for such extreme lengths is because they know it will force the Roe vs Wade issue into the Supreme Court. I don't know why they think Roe v Wade has a snowball's chance in hell of being overturned in the Supreme Court when at least one conservative judge has already said he would not overturn it because it is now an established legal precedent.
@4meAndyou Forcing your religion to dictate your life and then trying to force that religion to dictate literally a whole state's worth of people and their lifes is fucking pathetic. I definitely agree with you on the bravery thing.

@RedtheEmerald Well, not to argue, (but I guess I am a little bit), the legislators are themselves propelled by the wishes of the majority of voters.
That is completely right, but I feel like a lot of the time they just kinda do what they want anyways. Politics are biased and kinda suck.

'THIS' ain't no joke!!
Should each state be able to make its own laws in matters of abortion, guns, education, the environment, etc ??? Or should federal law take precedent over any state laws ???
@SheCallsMeCrushDaddy You're fighting an argument that no one started with you.

Turn off Fox News for a few hours and take a couple of breaths. You're going to be fine.
@RedtheEmerald fox is just as bad as CNN. takes breath. thanks for the advice. you're the best.
@SheCallsMeCrushDaddy I got you, hun.

Yeah, pretty much. But, the bill still has to go to the Supreme Court, and they'll likely tie it up for years. So it might give them a chance to see how everyone's reacting and be like "Hmmm, maybe we're dumb-fuck inbred cretins after all." Or at least add an exception for incest and rape.

Planned Parenthood and.....someone else are also suing Alabama.
@Tatsumi I haven't the slightest clue why people think they can overturn shit when it comes to The Supreme Court. In the end the court will always side with the law and the Constitution and what they are doing is unconstitutional.

I don't think Alabama will be doing any thinking for a while.

@Tatsumi Republicans are loading the supreme court. Alabama has admitted, it wants it heard. This is all about R v W getting overturned!! 🤷‍♀️
@Spitbak This reply is fuckin gross, but sums it up so well 😂

@ISpeakTheTruth After reading a couple of your post on your profile I have a good feeling a debate with you will get no where.
Just one of many reasons. But this time they’ve indicated a clear disregard for the girls and women of their state.
@bijouxbroussard Old rich white guys don't give a rats ass about anyone that isn't themselves.

Fuck those guys.
