What does this recurring dream mean?

Over the last few months, I've had a dream I keep having. It starts off by being with a bunch of friends, but for some reason, I become separated from them. As hard as a try, I can't get back to them; every direction I think is right, it takes me further away. Eventually, I end up in a neighbouring town. The dream usually ends with me at least starting on the way home again. One dream, I had a cat with me, but by the time I caught the train, the cat had disappeared. Can anyone tell what this dream means?

The thing about dreams is they act like metaphors. Sometimes they mean what they seem to mean. But the metaphor is based on your perceptions and experiences.

For instance, if I dream I was swimming in a pool, well, I was a lifeguard and taught 3-5 year olds how to swim when I was a teenager. So, a pool to me is something a lot more nostalgic than it may be to you. All of my experiences working at the pool are tied to what a "pool" means to me. So, say the pool suddenly starts evaporating. To me, that might mean a loss of the past. Or moving on. But it would be different for you, because you've had different experiences and perception of pools.

Based on what would be typical reactions to friends, your dream seems to be pretty straight forward. You feel ostracized from your friends and not accepted, no matter what you do. Wanting to "head back home" would seem to indicate that you miss your friends and want to make your way back to them. That is, if "home" represents your social circle.

But like I said. Friends may mean something different to you than me. A town, cats, etc, etc. So, it's really something you have to "decode" for yourself.

Given that it's a recurring dream, it is probably important. The best way to really figure it out is to really gauge your emotions when you wake up. What were you feeling when you were looking for your friends? What were you feeling when the train came? Etc, etc.

Your frontal lobe is turned off in dreams. So it's just pure emotion and instinctual impulse. So try not to look at it rationally, but emotionally.
the closest thing was about friends leaving you behind this is what i got:There is something about you that you feel insecure or unsure about. It could be physical or it could not be physical! Below are just some of the areas in a person’s life that could cause them to have feelings of insecurity:

Weight
Intelligence
Personality
Shyness
Grammar
Education
Vehicle they drive
House they live in
Friends
Family
Guilt over something they’ve done
Job or “title”
Speech
General appearance

🤔Anxiety,pressure,anger,etc!@Girlyfriendcollecting
It means you've been thinking of old friends and how you are growing a part. A part of you is worried there is nothing you can do to stop it, or to get those friendships back.
Don't be eager to read anything prophetic from it. When any person sleeps, pressure is exerted from the weight of the body onto the sleeping surface. The body reacts to this pressure and moves while we sleep. If, for reasons of over-tiredness, the body does not move as it should, the mind then uses anxiety to stimulate the release of adrenalin to encourage the body to move. Other dream experiences are when the body needs to expel urine or daly digested food. Extremely rare is the 'prophetic' dream. The repetition of the dream is simply the mind recording a method by which the body can be moved.

I have studied my own dreams. I think it means those friends are not really true friends and at some point will not be in your life. The cat dream, I'm not sure about

🤔Dreams are funny that way1I believe they come from experiences in life mixed with inner thoughts and emotions, joys, fears, pain, etc that meld within your dreams and in some cases with many people, can be preminitions for what may come!I have dreams that I'm in a world mixed with places I've been to and places and faces I've never seen!NO ONE really understands what the purpose of dreams are but they can mold your existence if you allow them to!My opinion anyhoot!🍻

Is this dream with or without the television on? 📺️
@FloorGenAdm I don't sleep with the telly on, no. I have a radio I listen to at times. Is that important?

R.E.M. sleep is a hotbed for signals like that. 📡😴
So I could be hearing things from the radio while asleep? Interesting. Thanks :)
You’re afraid of losing something important to you?

Loss of or missing connections in your life??
We all have recurring dreams at some point. You're nothing special right now, mate.
@RedtheEmerald Didn't say I was.
