How do you not let nasty people ruin your day?

Just had a postal worker be very rude and condescending to me and I could cry 😪
Moonflower · 61-69, F
I don't. A loud "Excuse me?!" for others to hear and possibly who is in charge of her, would be suffice. You never know, others might follow your reaction to her rudeness and not take it either. If you're not the sort of person to do this, then just walk away. Hopefully she was just having a bad day and is polite most of the time.

Mind over matter

I have a stock response for people like him

Smile at them then say you know this is mind over matter, I don't mind because you really don't matter.

Then walk away without giving the person the chance to respond.

Just cry & move on. Crying gives you closure unless you want to go back there & slap them.

I think you might go back to him and remind him that the first huge

psycho mass shooting in recent history...was in a POST OFFICE,

and you are lucky enough NOT TO BE THERE if it happens again.

And then beat it with a huge smirk on your maw. Make sure he SEES it.

Just remind yourself that if they are being shitty then it is because of their issues. If you allow them to make you feel shitty then you are allowing them to give their emotional baggage to you. The shit is theirs let them keep it.

I remind myself that he's a postal worker. A low-pay, low-skill employee in a failing business that likely will be replaced by a machine in the next decade or so. Let him have his moment. It's probably the only time he gets to feel good about himself in his life.

@Starsandfire Well as soon as someone is rude to you, then you immediately be mean back to them.
Starsandfire · 31-35, F

Starsandfire · 31-35, F
@SW-User yeah I'm good now. Very tired this morning and harder to control my emotions 🙄
nedkelly · 61-69, M
How was he/she rude?
Starsandfire · 31-35, F
@nedkelly I go by two names (I'm in the process of changing them) so when she asked for my last name I gave her both. Turns out she just wanted a signature. If she'd said this, I would have been fine, the sighing and rolling eyes and condescending look/silences from her were just totally unnecessary. She's thrown our post over the fence before instead of posting it and given it to our neighbour so 🤷‍♀️

@Starsandfire It appears the job is just to hard
Starsandfire · 31-35, F
@nedkelly poor lamb!
