Why do some people on SW talk about the US as if it's the only country in the world?

@Budwick You just said in your last comment that any place I go will be worse because I'm there. This conversation is about Americans too easily forgetting that the United States is not the entire world. You called my "habitat" a gutter because I said lots of the people I encounter are guilty of this.

I already explained what that sentence means. I said that other people forget that the rest of the world exists. You said that they do that because of me. The highlighted sentence means exactly what it says - their behavior of forgetting the rest of the world exists is not caused by my presence. Me being there doesn't cause them to be US-centric. You said that they're US-centric because of me being near them.

So when its day here .I am assuming it could be night there
We are coming into our summer ,,,you may be coming into your winter ,not sure about your seasons compared to ours ,,
but with my friends in Australia
I am dying from the heat and my friend is complaining she is cold because its cold there ,,,understand now ?
I have a friend who is like a brother to me
He lost his Mom to a bombing in Ireland ,now he is a missionary ,He sends me pics of the beautiful places he visits over there ,
But he also sends me heart breaking pics of the not so nice places ,thats why he is there ,to help relieve some of the suffering in his native country
I have another dear friend also doing Missionary work in South America ,,same thing ,,
Very beautiful places ,but also a lot of suffering
I think its the same thing around the world
Very wealthy places that are the envy of the world ,,,and just miles away ,,some of the worst conditions in the world
But to be fair its not just Americans who think they are the only country in the world ,,
people who have lived and died in the same place they were born ,never seeing any other culture then their own ,do have a tendency to assume ,this is how it is everywhere
I have been to very poor countries ,the cities are beautiful
but just outside the city ,the people would rather face the ocean in a tiny boat to try to reach the US ,then to die there
But we do seem to have a lot of arrogant ,assuming people in our country ,but its not limited to the US
But when the majority of people you speak to on some of these sites are Americans ,,it easy to forget that not everyone here is American
So I ask ,,or just say have a good day ,or night ,,depending where you are /time zone your in

It depends on who you work for because there is no mandated vacation, but if you work for my employer and not as a contractor persons with my level of service get 8 paid holidays a year, 30 days of vacation, and 10 personal days/sick days a year. Given I have worked for the company since 1993 (before I graduated from college). Employees are allowed to carry over the personal days but they cannot exceed 30 or you lose them and they have to be taken in full days not partial ones. It just depends where you work and for how long. And I'm interested in how all people live. One of the most interesting persons here (to me) is a woman my age that is Iranian. I adore her because she shares so openly with me about her personal thoughts and challenges as well as the beauty of her life. I love when you guys share your "football" stories and all the interesting word differences. That is one of the things I like about this place. There is a lot of diversity here.

Hate to upset you with simple facts but no matter how much you wish some cultural and political powerhouse like Canada or Bolivia or New Zealand will take it's place well good luck with that!
