do any of y'all older citizens remember the " Tet offensive"?

In '68 a temporary cease fire was agreed upon by both sides for two weeks to allow the country to celebrate the tet holiday peacefully. And the north never intended to honor that but to use that to try and gain a tactical advantage. Almost worked perfectly. It's a war crime to act like you are surrendering just to draw out opposing troops and gun them down. Some books refer to that as the greatest military diversionary tactic of all time. I personally believe the north to be a dishonorable government to go through all that ;deceit not tactic.
Just venting again.

That's .... not actually accurate. For years, both sides had informally acknowledged the "Tet" holiday by not attacking, but no agreement to this effect was ever made: therefore calling it a war crime is just absurd.

I was not alive then, but I am familiar with the event.
