@Synyster No one said he didn't break the law. The only question is what is warranted as punishment.
Synyster · 51-55, M
@hippyjoe1955 I agree on that.

@hippyjoe1955 But it didn't. That's how a moving violation turns into involuntary manslaughter. That's the whole point of those kinds of charges, where you kill people due to negligence, but not on purpose.

He is responsible for so many deaths. All those families will never be the same. It is so tragic. Who am I to pass judgement? It will be forever for him too.

It's a really tough situation but c'mon he inadvertently killed 16 people. He should get at least 10 years

@SW-User In Canada, people convicted of 2nd degree murder, and manslaughter, have served less time. I am also reminded of the case of Robert Latimer.

@chrisCA Robert Latimer...a sad case indeed. Today there are legal options for a situation like that....

@chrisCA Yup I remember that one too.. very sad.

I guess he's to be deported as soon as he's done serving his sentence too....whatever that may be.
UserNameSW · 46-50, M
He will likely get a sentence around 5 years - then he will be deported.
