A chav is usually a man/woman who goes out wearing a full tracksuit and white trainers (as regular apparel, not just for a run/working out). Certain specific hairstyles, jewellery, behaviours and manner of speech are specifically associated with chavs. Often regarded as people requiring an ASBO (humorously or otherwise), and sometimes rude/offensive/racist in public. Vicki Pollard (Little Britain) might be the quintessential chav LOL (or do i mean she is a caricature of one).
