What was the phrase when Lincoln died?

It's said that the night Abraham Lincoln died, the attending physician passed a remark. For those familiar with the Civil War and Lincoln, was the remark, "He belongs to the ages" or was it "He belongs to the Angels"?

The former would likely make more sense, since Abraham Lincoln was probably a deist.

No it was “You belong to the city... you belong to the night...🤔”

Now he belongs to the ages. Edwin Stanton said it. Secretary of War.
I stand corrected, it was Stanton, not a physician.
He belongs to the ages
“Now he belongs to the ages.”
