What do you think it is to be alive?

"It is the ability to communicate with someone at heart, I guess. To be recognised by someone. To be liked. To be hated. To be together with someone and hold hands with. To be hugged. Miss each other. That’s what it means “to live”. I don’t know what it means to be alive alone..”

To be "alive" "alone" means to be able to be secure enough to do anything alone- with confidence and fulfillment. To take that time to realize and awaken to who one is on their own; to either develop or pay attention to the authentic self (without outside influences) and own up to it, all of it- the bad, good, great, mediocre and superlative.

I have actually "lived" as a single guy pretty well for many years. There have been many solo house made great dinners with fine wine and a movie, there have been times I have gone to the movies alone, there have been many times I have undertook my most enjoyable passions independently and have had some of the best times of my life alone. It's how you regard your world by the way you utilize your mind for it. Single, partnered, polyamorous, whatever. Don't allow not having someone stop you from living well and being alive!

I didn't say that. You asked at the end of your post "I don't know what it means to be alive alone", I gave you a first hand experience at what it does mean to still live even though you may alone. Alone doesn't mean sadness for everyone, I'm enlightening you that is very possible if one is single either by "choice" or not by choice, you still have the power to live well and be alive. You don't necessarily "need" someone there to experience love, happiness, accomplishment, fulfillment, at peace or united. These things can truly be achieved, take it from a solitary introvert, who also has been in relationships so I have been on both sides and can create a fulfilling life with or without another person. Life is indeed a series of moments over the course of our existence, you don't measure it by a singular moment or event. I am a deep spirit that prefers feeling the moment too, I can do that in any setting.

@SolitaryPanther ok now I understand what are you talking! Yes I agree with you, anyone can feel alive being alone but I think this is for a short time, you don't agree that life is better when we have some people with us ?

@iudzip It depends on the person. There is no right or wrong answer to your final question. There are people out there who live independently forever, but they have great friends, family and other associates, and animals to keep them company and fulfilled. That's just reality. Your question renders a subjective answer, your perception or my perception is neither wrong or right it's up to each individual's outlook. Let people be free and choose as they will, there is no general one size fits all answer to your question.

@Kingfish28 I respect your reply but that is not "living." My friend has this same mentality but he just works and eats and works with barely any concept of fun.

@MalteseFalconPunch i think we (humans) have this feeling at some time! Even if we have some of that points we try to find other things at this moment I feel like I'm dead not because I don't have some of that points but because I'm not feeling complete
