(Most folks will find this question tedious and boring" What was something you accomplished recently that you are proud .

I've always's been a bit anal retentive. I love beautiful design and spaces. When decorating a living room wall with art groupings I took forever to ensure perfect symmetry, clean lines, even spaces and perfect balance. Spending hours for the right outcome.

While I have a lovely collection of art of all kinds, people would simply glance a moment, and say, "Such a lovely collection". Today I realized I needed to make a radical change. Truth is, my environment had become boring, almost sterile. Void of my own personality.

I took EVERYTHING off the walls and decided to change my thinking. I wanted art groupings both whimsical, even a bit eccentric. I wanted these walls to look as intriguing and interesting as I myself would love to be.

It took hours on end, lot's of sweat and frustration trying to make "random" asthetically pleasing and easy on the eye's as I could.

The litmus test was tonight, an old pal dropped by who knows me and the house well. He said, "WOW" several times, and, I never noticed most of these pieces before, what a fantastic group of art"

The point is, don't be afraid to think out of the box and take chances. A home should tell your story and the stories of others long gone. You don't need to be rich to thrive in a beautiful space! You don't have to be a snobby designer to create beautiful rooms. YouTube taught me and can teach you on most ANY budget!

Not having killed myself despite thinking I couldn’t get through it
@SW-User Oh wow! This makes my day. So glad you got through the suicidal ideations. The main thing is, You have both the right and the insight it takes to hip away what is weighing you down to such desperation. Just RESOLVE that you have everything you need to get through this. Day by day, things will get better hon. Life is a gift and you deserve EVERYTHING life can give you. Private me if you ever just need to vent. (((HUGS)))

Yes! Very far from tedious and boring... a sane and refreshing topic to me.

I'm actually slightly envious even though I do reconfigure my own space in small increments all the time.
I appreciate hearing that, I'm in the same boat, my apt. is small but I got tired of a big house that to me had no real "soul" (I stupidly bought it to try and sustain a very toxic relationship)

If you get a chance, check out Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent on YouTube. Incredible designers, yet, grounded and very much empathetic and helpful to anyone needing advice. Beautiful people with two
adorable kids! a fun watch my friend!

@Grateful4you i will check out sometime, and thanks for the share. I like how the idea of design and empathy is drawn together.
@SW-User Let me know what you think.

This is a great question but I took too much medicine and I'm drawing a blank.
Hi there! You're one of the EP "old timers" nice to see your still around.😄

@Grateful4you hi. A little late to return. I think bringing my nieces back into my life after several years without them was a huge positive for me in recent months.
