I miss seeing the milky way..
When i was a kid i could look up and see the bright swath of stars spread out across the sky.
Now i have to be miles away,far out in the country..

Yes. I used to live in Alaska and Wyoming when I was a lad and you could consistently see a good portion of the stars, the milky way, and in Alaska the "northern lights"
Now I live on the East Coast of the United States and the stars are washed out by an orange sickly glow of Philadelphia, which I only live about 10 miles from.

@SumKindaMunster it's a purplish glow down here, but I imagine Wyoming and Alaska would still have some of the best views in the Continental US. I imagine some territories like Guam would also be quite impressive.

@ViciDraco About 3 years ago, I visited several of the National Parks in the Western United States including the Grand Canyon and Bryce Canyon. Both afforded awesome views of the sky with little to no light pollution.
