Why do people put makeup on babies?

I seen several posts like this on FB. I know it’s not doing the baby any harm but it just seems kind of weird to me. They’re an infant. It’s not like a toddler or kid who’s playing around with kids makeup. The mother went out of her way to put all this makeup on a baby just for social media. 🤷‍♀️

For example :

She’s cute but it’s so extra for no reason.

Ikr it’s pathetic to see people using their kids to get social media points

To take photos like those.
And it is harmful. There are chemicals in make up that are too strong for a babys skin.

I think using your old panties to make a swim suit for the baby is a way bigger crime 😄
I never heard of that >.< gross @monkeysdevil007

@MorbidCynic Look at the blue lace thingy the poor baby is wearing

[c=#BF0080]I could never do that. The worst I did was a light pat of lipstick, not even obvious for my daughter’s pageant when she was 2 or 3. [/c]
I don't like the bow on the head either it's looks like they're giving some pedo a present.

It can be harmful, and mommy is an idiot! She doesn't need to look like a cartoon character.
Maybe it's just a filter? I really want it to just be a filter...

May be the parents want to make the childhood special, in their way. That's why. Nothing bad in this. Some cute pics don't harm, just remain as memories.
@SW-User I never said it wasn’t their kid but I’m allowed to have my opinions and criticize who I want. Just like they can cake outrageous amounts of makeup on their kid. Even as another poster said, adult makeup has strong chemicals that can harm a babies skin. Hence why baby products are different from adult products because they need to be more gentle. But sure, fuck up your kids skin for social media 😂 even some makeup is too strong for my adult skin. I can’t imagine what it will do to a baby,

@MorbidCynic Using some products for a short time won't do harm. Its not acid the way you're acting. And, as I said, you don't care about her child more than her own mother. Use your rules on your kid instead of criticising others.
@SW-User I can criticize who I want. Follow your own advice. It’s my post, I can say what I want 😂 and I’m just saying, I used a primer and kept it on for a couple hours and half my face became red and my skin dried out and turned flakey. It was on only for a short period when this happened.
That's so freaking weird.
