@Carla Me too--- I had to look it up, just now. ------Robert Wightman is an American actor perhaps best known for replacing Richard Thomas in the role of John-Boy Walton in the TV series The Waltons. He played the role beginning with the show's eighth season in 1979 until the end of the series in 1981.

Yes I did...Richard Thomas left the show (the writers had him injured in the war) and when they brought him back temporarily it was a different actor. Then after a short while they had John-boy move to New York to pursue writing and Richard Thomas would make the rare occasional appearance as John-boy again.
