"Bringing home the bacon" to be banned?

Apparently and old turn of phrase "Bringing home the bacon" is to be banned to avoid offending Vegans and replaced with vegan animal friendly alternatives?

XD XD XD XD XD no

PETA - this is why less and less people give a fk about you and why i recommend nobody even donate to u.

Vegans - are there any vegans that are actually offended by these phrases? i doubt it.

total BS that pretty much anyone would ignore. i love bacon. Forcing me to use the alternative phrase Bring home the Bagels as suggested will offend me. simply for restricting my speech.

That is silly.
Have Jews, or Muslims ever complained about it?
@chrisCA This should get BA as it is a stupid good point.

I'm offended by vegan processed meats that have like 50 processed ingredients in it. I think we should ban it and I'm probably going to use that phrase more now "bring home the bacon."

Anyways I like bacon. Ironically with a low carb diet I eat all the bacon I want and still lose weight. I have gigantic salads to make up for it lol, it's all good.

@SatanBurger Bacon is a good meat to eat while dieting. i prefer ham tho :p

@NeloAngelo Both are great, bacon is naturally salty so since I don't eat McDonald's if I crave something salty I have that lol :D

watch me go full SJW

Bringing home the bacon is an archaic phrase representative of a patriarchal rule where men were seen as the sole provider of the home and the wife's duty would then be to cook that bacon for her man. Anyone using that phrase in the modern world is thus furthering this stereotype and using a dog whistle to other misogynists.
@Jackaloftheazuresand I don't think most people know or care where it comes from and there for it's misogynistic meaning is irrelevant since they don't know it. They would need to know the history and they just don't.

@canusernamebemyusername I'd actually disagree, I'm pretty sure most people know how it was originally used. But let's not get into it since this was supposed to be mockery.
So it is bringing home the kale? Or the chick peas? What else will be destroyed in order to be correct for society and for those groups who must have it their way or the highway? It is getting to be ridiculous.

@PoetryNEmotion and risk offending the Martians? i think not.
@NeloAngelo The Martians have gone to another galaxy. They left a few weeks ago. Simply because there is too much interest in Mars currently. I wish them well.
NeloAngelo · 26-30, M
@PoetryNEmotion but some of them owe me money 😱
Bebop · 31-35, M
Haha it's turning into a society for soyboys and children.
My favourate was "gingerbread person" Oh thank fuck for that, true equality starts in the biscuit world and my trans friend can now eat one and not be reminded of the fact that there are sexes of people!

As for PETA my extremist (annoying) vegan friend doesn't even support them..so that's saying something.
NeloAngelo · 26-30, M
@Bebop XD gingerbread person i only skimmed by the list of phrases and alternative XD
Since when was PETA relevant?
NeloAngelo · 26-30, M
@canusernamebemyusername there not and this perfectly explains why.

Even though I am vegetarian I have always disliked PETA's tactics
vader2112 · 46-50, M
I say we use it even more. ¡Viva el bacon!
JoyfulSilence · 46-50, M
I bring home the NY strip steaks.

Good luck with that, PETA. 🙄
Well, that’s rather ridiculous. I doubt most vegans seriously give it a second thought. And I’m pretty certain animals couldn’t care less.
@bijouxbroussard What if it offends the animals though?
NeloAngelo · 26-30, M
@canusernamebemyusername to be fair i wouldn't wanna be eaten but that's the way the food chain works.
@canusernamebemyusername Well, they’d probably be more focused on what folks do rather than what we call it.
MethDozer · M
The how do they justify calling disgusting strips of bean paste veggie bacon? Is not the vegan burger a racial slur against our enslaved, bovine brothers under this same logic? Does not Tree cheese still call forth positive images of the theft by man what rightfully belongs to the calf from his mother's teat?
NeloAngelo · 26-30, M
@MethDozer that is oddly inspiring 🤩
