Do you have a deer problem in your area?

It’s deer season and each night afterwork, the number one concern I have driving down the road are deers popping up in the middle of the road.
you think they'd stay away from cars and traffic
@SW-User man that is pretty dopey!

@metaldog They don't get any smarter. It may have to do with their bad depth perception. It ends being unfortunate for everyone.
@uncalled4 gee the horrible possibilities on the highway...😖
I'd be afraid that along with those deer are assholes shooting at them, i'd be afraid I'd get shot in my car driving down the road.

Yes, whitetail deer overpopulation it's like a nuisance species here.

I have hit a yearling and look over and see more and the doe
all the yearling hit sticking with Mom
They are like dogs ,,wait until your on top of them and then jump in the road
I see dear every night ,Geese ,fox ,wolves ,turkey
As soon as the sun pops up first day of hunting season ,,it sounds like a war out here
But the owner of the lands sons spot light and hunt the land all year so they thin the herd some
Nooooo no Bambis here
Just goats and cows lol

The number of hunters here has dwindled or at least they're bad shots. With no natural predators the population has exploded. So our problem has become two fold, not only a driving hazard but also wasting disease from lack of food.

@SageWanderer I wish people only understood that ,wild life now days is managed ,,and hunting is a natural as breathing for an alpha male its in our DNA as provider ,protector
but unless a heard is thinned out ,they are not healthy
Thats why we thin the Bucks out ,over population is a bad thing
we are not out to just kill poor Bambi
They are better for feeding my family ,then rotting beside the road or in the woods where an alpha buck has killed his competition off ,or they kill each other off for a chance at the Alpha spot

@rckt148 Trophy hunting is one thing. Hunting for food is another. Even with the management we still have an overpopulation problem though. Plus many of the does here are having multiple fawns.

No, the deer have a human problem!
Not that I'm aware of.
Apparently deer are attracted to the light from headlights, but you can get special headlights that they don't like?
SW-User
@AmbivalentFriability I don’t know about special headlights. I’ve been told turning up the volume to the car stereo scares them off.

There is so much poverty out here...and meth.
rckt148 · 61-69, M
@Xuan12 yea I can see where that would affect the migration patterns of deer

Yep. No joke. They're a menace. Nearly been killed several times.
