I think you might not being putting a check mark next to "never", when being asked when you want to return. Otherwise it automatically sets your account to reopen in 3 days.
After you say never, give your excuse, then come back and permanently closed your account by logging back on. It will ask you there if you want to log on, or permanently leave SW.
Click permanently, and you are history.

@Deadgirl You can't use same email once you close it out with your account. You'll have to provide another email

Being a real bad member may get you banned, i don't comprehend the technical side, but that seems like one way to do it, maybe .... a better way is to change perspective, see this as a nice place, but not too nice that you neglect offline stuff.

Delete your account via the settings. Once you’ve been logged out, log back in and select “I want to delete my account permanently” it takes ages to completely delete your profile
