What does it mean when I click on a website and it says "HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable"?
For how long does it remain unavailable?

503 is a server error.It could be simply very busy and unable to to handle your request or it could be down for maintenance, in which case probably 10 - 15 minutes.

and put in the site you are trying to access, if it is just you then it is likely to be a DNS problem on your router, which should sort itself out if you reboot the router. If its down for everyone then the site is offline for maintenance or it is overloaded.
