Sorry to hear of your friend's loss.

Sarah has gone back into the Hospice as she can no longer manage living on her own with Chemo and Radiotherapy every few days.
It really is giving her a kicking !

She phones me early morning if she can't sleep and we often just chat rubbish to help pass the time until she gets too tired and then just sleeps for a day or so sometimes.

@Picklebobble2 I am sorry to hear she is having it tough ,but its nice she has you to talk to and keep her encouraged ,
Here to be in a hospice facility means its end of life
they won't keep you but so many days if you don't pass
You can go to a nursing home ,or to your own home and the nurses come to either place ,but they only keep you comfortable until you pass ,its not long term care .Thats when my friends Dad passed ,,he had stage 4 lung cancer
He was in Hospice twice ,,the first time when he didn't pass they sent him home .
My daughter is a nurse ,she agreed to help take care of him in his home so he had around the clock care .
Its a shame you are so far away ,I am sure my daughter would be willing to be there for your friend ,,thats what they do .
She has kept so many alive a lot longer than expected ,my oldest daughter took care of a man they expected him to pass right away ,she took him on like he was her child ,he lived 14 more years .
She refused to even leave him to go on vacation ,he got to go too ,or she wouldn't go ,,but she did finally have to take a break ,he passed while she was on vacation ,,,she still blames herself
The last place my youngest daughter lived was with her neighbor ,the lady begged her to stay with her ,,,She was taking care of her brother who had cancer ,both of her sons had passed ,she was a widow ,
So for 3 yrs she moved in and took care of the lady and her brother .
Mrs Edna passed from a blood clot during a simple surgery ,
Her daughter came and water her uncle tossed in the streets ,,but the courts would not allow it ,,that was his home too ,he was on the deed ,
So though it made the family mad ,,my daughter stayed there and took care of him until he passed ,,None of the family had been to see either of them for over 8 yrs ,,until the Mom was dying ,,,then they swooped right in to claim her home and her things .
She took my daughter to court ,trying to toss her and her uncle out
The judge seen right through her gold digger ways
He told my daughter after the uncle passed to move out at her leisure
He was not tossing her out ,,,she paid all the bills ,they were our family
I still miss them ,,Mrs Edna was like my Mom ,,we all loved her so much
We got to know them when I seen the Uncle fall out of his walker ,
And everyone ran over there to help him ,,,
The next day this little sweet lady shows up at my daughters door saying she just made herself a friend for life ,,and she was for the rest of hers
She had beat cancer twice ,,and died over a blood clot ,,,
Sorry for going on ,,,got myself crying ,,I miss her
You are a good friend ,,no one knows how important someone like you are
unless they have been lonely and scared ,,,we vow to never let that happen if we can help it ,,My oldest Daughter was with her client through an agency ,,but she made him part of the family ,he couldn't talk or see but like a baby and a Mom she knew what made him happy ,,,he loved music and my family to sing for him
my youngest never took a dime from anyone ,,her and her kids lived in one room and my daughter paid all the bills
She didn't have lights when I met her ,she has a light short out and it scared her so she shut the power off ,she had a gas stove and battery lights
I repaired all her electrical problems and assured her it was safe ,my grandkids were staying there too ,,she trusted my
My best friend put her in a hot water heater ,she had not had hot water in years either ,,while her daughter and her husband were Sheriffs ,she had not checked on her Mom in 8 yrs ,she had no clue she was living that way ,,
and tried to tell the judge my baby was a squatter ,,,some people

Having gone through that period of (seemingly) every unmarried Ghanian woman wanting 'friendship' through those bloody awful 'friend request' things on Facebook, (that was a thing for ages) i'm extra cautious these days.

@Swann It is a 'thing' ? People do it ? Just call you up ?
