If it were possible to eat a vegetarian meat substitute that was indistinguishable from real meat, would you prefer to eat that over real meat?

As Grandma used to say, food tastes better when you raise it and murder it
@Ladywiththepants

lol your grandma is fucked

I love meat. Prepared a lot of different ways. If I could get the same mmmmmhmmmmmmhmmmmyummmynum from fake meat, I'd be glad to do so. Things don't have to be what they pretend to be if I can't tell the difference. Not all lies are harmful.

Give me all the meat, real and fake, I don't discriminate.

But given the choice, which would you prefer?

@Pikachu all of them

@Raythedevil

lol fake meat that tastes like real meat strains your imagination?
Alrighty then. So you entered a thread you had no intention of participating in and then criticized me for imagining something that is too difficult for you to imagine...
Yeah, you sound like a blast😏

Yep, you'll never know.@Pikachu
@Raythedevil

lol thank god

http://beyondmeat.com/

I read about this a while back. The product was called the Beyond Burger. They infuse the vegetable base with some kind of enzyme that fools the taste buds into thinking they are being hit with juicy browned meat.
@4meAndyou

Wicked. I would so buy that
4meAndyou · F
@Pikachu The website has all the locations where the beyond meat is now on sale.
@4meAndyou
Aw dang. I can't get in here.
Unless i go to AW lol
KaiserSolze · 46-50, F
Does the fake meat have fake blood. I like my meat bloody.
@KaiserSolze

lol well that's kinda my point. If one can't tell the difference, why would one want to take the life of another creature.
KaiserSolze · 46-50, F
@Pikachu I know. But meat just sounds more satisfying somehow.

It is possible and i like the vegetarian version
Raythedevil · 56-60, M
@lorne13 They might have something out that fools you, doesn't mean it will fool other people.
lorne13 · 61-69, M
@Raythedevil how many have you tried?
Raythedevil · 56-60, M
@lorne13 I haven't yet.
Raythedevil · 56-60, M
That's a virtually moot point, because no meat substitute will ever be that close.
Raythedevil · 56-60, M
@Pikachu Then your scenario as written is flawed, it would not work out like that, I'm sorry for your sense of logic.
@Raythedevil

lol yes. My imaginary hypothetical scenario is wrong. You must be fun to watch films with....

Raythedevil · 56-60, M
@Pikachu Actually, more than you can possibly imagine.
Deadcutie · 18-21, F
It’s like a Digiorno pizza.. they are full of shit, it doesn’t taste like a delivery or carry out..... regardless of their claims..

There is no way I’ll be able to eat some vegetable paste and pretend it’s meat....

I’ll be cutting into a real steak with all the trimmings thank you...

Yes! I don't eat red meat anyway, so if you made a vegetarian substitute look like a hot dog, I would definitely eat it but I wouldn't eat the bun... because I don't eat refined white flour products either!

But if you took a sirloin steak and somehow added artificial food coloring and made it somehow look like a cob of corn on my plate, I could probably be tricked into believing it was really a cob of corn. Just sayin'...
