I saw something I can't explain

While driving across the state, I occasionally will see animals. The usual coyotes, deer, elk, bunnies, squirrel, raccoons...a moose. Just the usual wildlife.
Now, I do hallucinate - but I think my son saw this too - he just didn't look up in time to fully see it.
I thought it was a dog, and then decided it was a coyote... but as i grew close and then passed it. it occurred to me it looked more like a pinata. A pinata that moved.
It was dog shaped, long legs. I didn't see a tail. Covered in curly white wool. It had ears and a face shape, but no definition. No mouth opening, no eyes, no nose, just the shape. The ear shape without the ears, like, as I said, a pinata. I finally said this to him a few days after we got to my house and he just kind of smiled and asked if we were on tribal land at the time. Which got me to thinking, maybe my brain saw a mythical creature. I can't find anything that looks like what i saw though.
Any ideas?

Escaped domestic dog, possibly. There are multiple breeds that, if they aren't groomed properly, their fur will over grow and cover their eyes and eventually mouth, eventually making it impossible for them to eat. I don't see why it wouldn't also fill in their ears.
@UndeadPrivateer Possibly, but it's fur was pretty short. granted I passed it going about 50 - I sloweed way down as it moved like it was going to jump out in front of me - I hope whatever it was isn't in distress. poor thing.

A baby llama?
@Straylight No, not nearly sweet enough to be a baby lama. It didn't have the neck length and its ears were too triangular and pointy.

Sorry, that was me.
@JupiterDreams well you were freaking adorable!! How do you keep your hair so short and well groomed?... and did you really have facial features and a tail? Because that was a little bit off putting.
