I feel bad for these puppies at my house

Which belong to my roommate. I noticed yesterday how thin they have gotten and am a lil concerned now.. she has been buying adult food for them and I don't know for sure but based on what I know...it seems they aren't fed enough in a day now that they are old enough to be introduced to soft food. U can never really say anything to her without her know it all or she says she is caring for them properly etc...she works...and is out all night usually after after maybe a stop home for only a few.
So I am thinking of going to the store to get puppy food and milk replacer and start the job myself. And mentioning it to her. Even tho I feel like bitching because of her lifestyle...not fitting the needs of the puppies. even the mother of the pups for that matter.
