Human? Goat? Kangaroo?

@MethDozer Are cows the only "classified" animals?
To say the word milk would specificly mean cow milk. I don't think they have a problem calling it goat milk to separate it from cows. But the ruling says milk comes from a bolvine

@Llort @MarkPaul Yeah it says milk is the product of cows specifically, but I live in a dairy and livestock area and the topic is on the news a lately and some so and so from the FDA was talking and saying "milk" is from does unless otherwise another specified dairy animal is me mentioned. That the intent of the ruling is to avoid confusion of a product by suggesting plant waters are at all related to dairy or actual milks. It was also explained that the FDA is unsure how or if this specification will be enforced on the markets. So basically the FDA defines milk as from an animal and on it's own means cow milk.and that plant waters are not at all related or a similar.

Sorta like the ruling saying Pringles cannot call their crisps chips.
What about breast milk, soy milk, almond milk and coconut milk, then???
@MethDozer Only in America do they find ways of complicating what once was a simple system!!!

I thought that good old logic would have told most people that anything that isn't derived from an animal wouldn't be milk as they know it, without any rulings to verify the fact.

I guess that genetically modified ketchup is next on the list, then???

@HootyTheNightOwl Not true. Many nations make arbitrary labeling rulings such as this.

Personally I think it is a waste of time and silly when things like Vitamins water can call themselves water.
Look, it was a big push by the amerian dairy association that brought this. They are very a fucked up group. This is just a way to stop people from looking at soy or almond milk as a viable substitute for regular milk because there are many people who do treat almond milk and soy as a substitute for milk. The bottom line is money. But it does stop people from thinking cheese can be dairy free the same way milk became. Although there is dairy free cheese it shouldn't be called that either.
