How do you get birds that are living in your house to leave?

So apparently a bird decided to go down our chimney and made a nest in the walls of my family's house. For the past few weeks we've been hearing the birds chirping non-stop, but we're not sure how we're going to get them out without causing a big ruckus. We're kind of hoping that they'll just leave, but so far there's no luck. Any advice?

Go to the store get a bottle of N2 or (nitrogen). Find where you think they are and spray the N2 into the wall. It will displace the oxygen and kill them. The only reason you want to use N2 is because it’s not flammable. That will be $500 bucks please lol jk
I had the same thing happen in the ceiling above the Powder Room. Birds were getting in through the exterior exhaust fan vent, and every Spring for 6 years or more, I'd hear them up there chirping and pecking. When I walked in there and saw feathers on the toilet seat, I knew I had to do something. I called in a bird removal expert. So, six hundred dollars and several contractor garbage bags full of nest material later, the birds are no longer able to get in because there is now a cap over the exterior vent. Every Spring since has been wonderfully bird-free above the powder room.

When the chicks learn to fly they'll leave.
Then seal up the nest or the parents may use it again.

Do you own cats? When it comes to mercilessly torturing and killing smaller animals its what they're designed for.

Set a fire so all the smoke goes up the chimney.
