Have you ever experienced withdrawal?

Due to alcohol or drugs.

Yup. Serious withdrawal. Depending on your drinking habits, I would take withdrawals very seriously and seek medical oversight. It can literally kill you.

Oh its not so bad now. I took your advice and tapered and just drank half a bottle of vodka (but not rushing it, making it last all day).

I had vivid unsettling nightmares (which is pretty standard for me), but I'm sure in a day or two I'll be as fit as I ever was.

@AynRand Continue to taper. It has to be gradual depending on how long you've been drinking.

Also, consider switching to wine or beer when you're tapering.

@AynRand The nightmares are par for the course. You can continue to taper, but keep in mind that alcohol is alcohol, whether it's wine, beer or liquor. None is more addictive than the other. I highly recommend finding a support group like AA. You don't have to do anything but sit and listen to try it out and the rooms are full of people doing all the right things to make their lives better. Good luck.

The only withdrawal that I've experienced involves my bank account... :(
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
@walabby That's great. Just how it should be.

Just temporary withdrawal to coffee. That was bad enough.

Twice with prescription drugs I was taking when I was younger.

I've had the pleasure of a 'hangover' yes!

@GeistInTheMachine right now. Today was the first day I didn't drink vodka for at least a week. Bad things are imminent.....
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
@AynRand You need to taper. Don't go cold turkey.
