I had a task like that before. I literally asked if I could just spend a month automating the code and scripts they gave me, but they denied it. I hope your situation improves!

They make me automate for nearly anyone who wants. It’s all a priority game and I don’t get to decide the priority even though I have the most knowledge about the systems in play.
