How do people paint graffiti in tall places?

I've always wondered how they get all the way up there. Like on the side of an overpass, or the top of an abandoned factory. Do they have a ladder, or a safety harness, or do they just climb to the top and dangle off the side on a rope? Seems like a lot of effort to go through to paint a symbol.
