Would you forgive a vile person if they had developed cancer and were slowly dying?

Did they do anything other than developing cancer to make me forgive them? I'd feel empathy towards what they're going through, but aside from that... Life goes on, as it did prior to the cancer becoming known. I don't hate anyone, neither vile persons. It's all about sympathy and empathy. I can feel sorry for someone having to go through something as devastating as cancer, but still have no sympathy for the person they present themselves as being.

I already know most ppl don't know what they are really doing so forgiveness goes a long way.
But forgiveness isn't for that person, it's for you.

No, their suffering and pain can't undo the damage they did to others. I would not be happy about their suffering, just indifferent.

If it was someone who was violent, a bully or a criminal, no, I wouldn't.
