I would say to start measures to bring change to it, but at 16 or 17, which ever you are, you are rather limited as to what you CAN do. But I feel for you.
i have been counseling another young woman, 19 I believe and they say almost the same as you. Their feelings may even be darker. At their age they have more options than you.
It's rather sad. I see so many your age group that feel that way.
