How do you prevent paint brush marks on furniture?

kayoshin · 36-40, M
Don't use a paint brush use spray on on furniture, alternatively buy a heat gun and use it (it's cheap unless oyu buy a pro or fancy brand one) then use a sponge roller to apply the paint then use the heat gun to heat up the lacquer on a low setting it will burst the tiny bubbles caused by the sponge and give a more even out closer to professional look. Then let it dry for half a day then repeat 2-3 times to get a shiny thicker coat. use a very fine sandpaper to break the shine of the previous coat of lacquer before applying the next one it really gets coats to stick together, don't just apply lacquer on shiny lacquer.

@kayoshin ^^^ this. The heat gun works to thin it out and make it run together. Just don't use too.much heat to cause it to dry unevenly. Even a blow dryer on air works to move it around.
Don’t paint. 😂. Sorry. 😶

@SW-User I thought it would be easy

@MushroomFaerie What is your idea of easy? Giggling. Always best to do a little research first to know what ya getting yourself into. But again, it can be corrected with a little mussel work. Hopefully you have a small hand sander.

Don't put paint near furniture. Cover up the furniture..
@MissMollyCharlotte0702 I'm putting clear on my bench top

@MushroomFaerie Try a sponge brush rather than a paint brush or you could use a clear spray too. It's not too late. Just go over it after you clean off the dust OR sand it and THEN use a different method with your clear coat. I'm sure if you google it, you will find some helpful tips too.
Maybe spray paint instead.@MushroomFaerie

I would try a sponge brush. Definitely should help with leaving marks.

@fairone Many paints that are durable rough for furniture or railings don't go on too well.with them.

@MethDozer very true, its frustrating.. I remember using a sponge brush and so lightly/faintly touching the paint, in order to eliminate brush strokes.
MethDozer · M
@fairone That works sometimes. You often risk getting bubbles though witch look worse imho and it always shows when it's too late in my experience succubus why I don't often like them for anything except liquid stains.

I noticed she is clear coating after I answered. IMHO clear coats are best sprayed and what I usually recommend to customers. Clear coats can be a bitch.

It should be, even the Toronto Star brought how this goes on in night life.

Go a little thicker on the finish coats and and drag your brush at a low angle. Make sure you keep the brush wet with paint and don't try and pull the paint to far before redipping.

Better yet, spray it.
