Masks

What are masks? Something you wear on your face right? Something that can hide you almost, that won't let anyone on the outside see what you really look like? That's a physical mask. What about, an emotional mask? What kind of mask is that? Well, if a physical mask hides your face, maybe an emotional mask is used to hide feelings or emotion. That's pretty different from a physical mask you'd think. But is it really? Where does the most emotion ever show to somebody else? On your arm? No, on your chest? No. Your eyes, your mouth, your face in general, it is what can show emotion. The way your eyes light up when you hear good news, the smile that creeps it's way onto your mouth when you are in a good mood or perhaps you heard a good joke. What does a mask do though? It prevents others from seeing that. You wear a mask, and nobody knows what you are feeling then, they can only assume. An emotional mask is no different, you create fake feelings to hide what you're really feeling. Everyday people wear some form of mask whether it be physical or emotional because every person has something hidden that they don't want seen by others. We think those people are ok but most of the time they aren't because that mask is doing it's job. And the more hurt a person gets, the tighter the mask is fastened so it won't fall off. And the more a person believes nobody is there for them the more the person will refuse to ever take off the mask because nobody will try hard enough to help. They don't want to help so they leave it be and the person will believe that if the mask is the only thing that will help. Is it so hard to see when something is wrong, to try a little harder to help? To help somebody take off that mask and help them be genuinely happy? That mask made them look happy, but it's so much better, if somebody can be happy without the help of that mask.
A good posting, Helio. I just worry about the people that wear masks so often and so well that they can never remove them. I don't believe in masks except during celebrations when they are required.
@ThatOneMan I hear what you are saying. But one cannot save all the puppies.
@PoetryNEmotion The pugs will be saved
@ThatOneMan A few, perhaps. Have a good one.

I have a personal belief that people that feel invisible can SEE others that also feel invisible. We can see thru the mask because we recognize the hurt..its like drowning in water.
