Do you think feminism has gone too far?

WelshLovely · 46-50, F
Feminism itself isn't an issue because it's about treating people equally. So called feminists who hide behind the movement when they're actually misandrists with a superiority complex are!
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
@WelshLovely well said.
Zaphod42 · 46-50, M
Are you honestly asking for my manpinion, or are you just trying to continue the femversation? 😂
blasphemy666 · 26-30, F
@Zaphod42 😂😂
xSharp · 31-35, M
nope, just let it run its course. itll all work out in the end. 👍

*throws away silver medal cuz its not good enough*

want to see some real feminists? check out the female ypk fighters who lie dead and mutilated on battle fields across the middle east while their still living female compatriots continue to fight despite already witnessing, multiple times, their likely end.
ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
@xSharp The real feminists don't live in the states.👌🏻
xSharp · 31-35, M
@ravenwind43 because real feminists were not raised as a ruling class lol
ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
@xSharp They don't "march"...they battle!
Allthingscurious · 41-45, M
No, trumpism has gone too far and has necessitated the expansion and urgency of feminism.
Allthingscurious · 41-45, M
@IWasCallingYaLarry your idea that we have equal rights is why we have feminism. There is nothing equal about rights in America. I don’t care what’s written, the reality is that women, POC, and LGBTQ are systemically treated as lesser people.
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
@Allthingscurious No they aren't. See now that's just using feelings as your facts. Pretty much most people here are accepting of the lgbt community and of course of women in general. No matter what, there will be some assholes but that's with anything, really. The media will lie to you to make you think otherwise as well as feminists who don't want actually equality will do. They don't want equality. They want equity. They just wanna further brainwash people to push their narrative. It doesn't matter if you're black or gay or anything else. We're equal in America now. It's 2018. We have achieved equality. The only ones who don't see that are people who prefer to use their feefees as facts and ignore facts and all else. Everybody has become so accepting with this stuff now. Who cares if someone is black or someone is gay ot someone is a lesbian? Nobody. At least most people don't. Don't let the media feed you lies.
Allthingscurious · 41-45, M
@IWasCallingYaLarry ok junior. You’ve clearly not experienced life outside of your tiny privileged world. I’ve lived all over the country and the world. I’ve experienced more than you could in two lifetimes. To sit here and say everyone in this country has equal rights is ignorant and stupid and is exactly why this country has turned into such a shithole. You can’t deny the existence of something simply because you aren’t affected by it.
sighmeupforthat · 46-50, M
no just misogynists whining real hard because they're scared the little girls will steal their thunder.

sad to see there's as many female misogynists as there are male.

i guess having rights is something no one else should have according to many.

I've never been a part of the feminist movement. Like everything else these days, its overblown and needs to go away.
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
Nah... my octogenarian grandfather was arrested for not giving birth. it still has some ways to go.
ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
Yes way to far. It's an embarrassment to the early suffragists. Thank God they are all underground.
Unlearn · 41-45, M
I think everything has gone too far...
SW-User
It's not a matter of going to too far, but it is a matter of not judging each situation and each person on their merits. Saying always believe the woman (on sexual harassment) charges is ridiculous, and borders on violating one's basic sense of justice.
Miram · 31-35, F
Some western self proclaimed feminists, yes.
I think most people pay attention to the negative noise much more than the positive, no matter the organisation.
blasphemy666 · 26-30, F
@Miram I agree
YouCanCallMeDan · 41-45, M
Yeah we should go in the opposite direction. Masculinism should be everyone’s new way of thinking. It needs to happen quickly before things get worse
SW-User
Well I certainly wouldn’t burn my bra but I get their argument. But like everything yes it’s been hyped up more now re sexual harassment in Hollywood etc
english · 56-60, M
well lets be honest,your still not treated equally are you ?😕
blasphemy666 · 26-30, F
@english we aren't...and it's a shame..
english · 56-60, M
@blasphemy666 heres the best part its against the law .🙃 whats up with that ?
blasphemy666 · 26-30, F
@english what law though?
Not real feminism, there are still areas where women don’t have equal rights and opportunities. But so-called “third wavers” are misandrists who shouldn’t be calling themselves “feminists” because it’s not the same thing. That does border on the ridiculous, sometimes.

IMO, not the -ism itself, but for sure, I've seen some feminists who I don't agree with.
blasphemy666 · 26-30, F
@MistyCee on what points exactly?
@blasphemy666 Sighs. Hard to say.

Off the top of my head, I seem to recall a number of positions taken on both sides of the whole Trans thing that I don't really think were well thought out.

I've also "met" a number of feminists online who brought a whole bunch of other issues into feminism, which I didn't think were particuarly germane. There are feminists, for example, who instinctually distrust and sometimes seem to attack men, and seem to distract people from core issues, which I think are more important.
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
Yes. I do.
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
i think it has become a joke at this point
