What are your thoughts on KFC running out of chicken?
What lessons can be learnt to stop such a disturbing state of affairs from ever happening again?

1. The cargo ship was delayed, which means it was not locally-sourced chicken.
2. People need to learn to cook their own fried chicken, cook at home and you don't get the MSG and other nasty chemicals, plus you can use fresh oil and save money.
3. People are too dependent on chain restaurants if they make a big deal out of one of them temporarily closing.

That is a tragedy, and if one has a yen for KFC, nothing else will do.
I was at Walmart a few months ago, and THEY RAN OUT OF SHOPPING BAGS! No warning...just after they rang up my $100+ purchase, announced they had nothing to give me to carry it home in. I suggested they take a box of small trash bags off the shelf and use those. The way they looked at me suggested my name is probably on a Homeland Security watch list now.
