I see Trumps solution to the gun problem is to arm teachers - what makes him think more guns is the answer?

redredred · M
We protect our money with guns, our national monument with guns, our national parks, and even, for some reason, our politicians with guns. We protect all the things we value most with guns. Why not our children? Is there some moral high ground in saying we won't protect them with the most effective means at our disposal? Explain, please.

Yeah, I too wish it were like 1955 and Andy Taylor was the local sheriff but it isn't. Only fools don't get that.
MaryJo1996 · 26-30, F
@SW-User The press regulator. Already pointed that out, but you ignored it because it suited your narrative.
MaryJo1996 · 26-30, F
@SW-User I'm bored of you anyway. Go buy a gun and kill someone you ignorant cunt.
@MaryJo1996 as this thread shows , there really are some weird people in America but I guess that's to be expected from a country where almost half the voters elected that creepy right wing pervert as president.

It is not an unheard of idea, it would not have to be teachers but we need guns in school to secure schools. Israel requires schools with 100 or more students to be guarded. A civilian police force handles the entire security system of all schools from kindergarten through college. The Ministry of Education funds shelters and fences, reinforces school buses, and hires and trains guards. And yes they have guns. The guards don’t just stand around. They check everyone entering, and engage threats, and provide self-defense.

Secured schools and dedicated personnel in community police departments who respond to and vet alleged threats is how you stop this thing. If all you do is pass some gun laws and laws directed at so called crazy people putting them on lists of one sort or another just get ready for more.

@Johnson212 Try reading what I wrote.
Johnson212 · 61-69, M
@room101 Are you really under the illusion that people read anything after you start the post off with you are a moron are you? I noticed that when people move to name calling they have no logic left.
room101 · 51-55, M
@Johnson212 And yet you read enough of it to feel able to reply.

You've had no logic from the start of this debacle.
i keep thinking that the police will see an armed teacher during a school shooting and have no idea who is who and shoot them dead
@MaryJo1996 Well, I did observe that when faced with unarmed black people at traffic stops police often seem to “fear for their lives” yet they somehow managed to bring in James Holmes, Dylann Roof, Jared Loughner and now Nicolas Cruz, who’d all just shot multiple victims—alive and usually without a scratch.

@PinkPowerRanger AGAIN AGREES WITH YOU GUYS, my thinking to all this american fucked up sadness,, all call me goofy, but It all got to do with the cost of life is mega billions a dollars for a peace of this or that,, that when earing money was 8 bucks a hour life was decent, so I blame all the angers of fubared kids is they know life seems impossible to just own a car, holy crap

@PinkPowerRanger Especially if they are black.

Moronic solution from a moronic individual for a moronic problem.

America, WAKE UP! Stop fetishising guns!
@room101 Well, a large percentage of us are perplexed by the attitude as well. The gun nuts don’t represent all of us.
room101 · 51-55, M
@bijouxbroussard The good thing is, they are easy to identify and avoid.

trump supporter? On yer bike chum.
Gun nut? On yer bike chum.
Pro-life hypocrite? On yer bike chum.
Confederate flag waver? On yer bike chum.
Bible thumper? On yer bike chum. And I'm a Christian hahahahaha
chrisCA · M
@bijouxbroussard Gawd forbid, they pay a little extra in taxes to provide health care, and a proper education, for those children.
Because he's a fucking moron
It would make more sense to have gun detectecters in every school instead. Violence is not the answer. I answered earlier in another question the teachers using the gun to intimidate students. Worst idea ever!
@TopOfTheWorld oops I corrected 😣 irs meant to say gun
@RadiantRuby fun detectors too is a good idea, we can't have kids having fun in school.
@TopOfTheWorld Well your right if they had more fun, they wouldn't have the urge to shoot other students.... maybe water gun 😆😀

@FelixLegion open your mind and educate yourself by travelling outside America and you'll discover that countries without school shootings and over ten thousand gun deaths annually are real, not an illusion.
SW-User
I know there is no point but go look at the Australian gun controls - no school shootings since introduced.

UK - after Dunblain no school shootings only one mass shooting since.

But evidence like that makes no difference in this debate it seems
bookerdana · M
It is very reminiscent of Archie Bunkers solution to plane hijackings

@bookerdana Priceless ! And back then, it was funny because most folks realized it was stupid. Now you’d have morons agreeing with him and trying to make it a law. 🙄
bookerdana · M
@bijouxbroussard It's impossible to satirize Trump,he is already a parody
With "think" being the operative word here.

Trump doesn't think.
RedFlower · F
if you put enough guns into the classrooms noone will be able to move anymore and there cant be a shooter... it does work...
room101 · 51-55, M
@RedFlower I'm sorry that I missed the irony. My bad.
RedFlower · F
@room101 no worries, i suck at humor
room101 · 51-55, M
@RedFlower it seems that I suck at seeing humour 😁
LyricalOne · F
Ivanka told him.
MaryJo1996 · 26-30, F
Coz he's a thick cunt.
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
Because criminal still find a way to get hold of a gun. An armed teacher could have taken that sob out. The security guard was a victim cause even he wasn't armed
room101 · 51-55, M
@Mountainlady16 And yet UK police are unarmed.

Three mass shootings in more than 40 years.

Less than 30 gun deaths per year.

But of course, there can't be a correlation between a proliferation of guns and gun deaths.........because........you know.........the NRA says there isn't.
chrisCA · M
@Mountainlady16 An armed teacher is going to fire a pistol in a crowded school hallway to take out a gunman?

@Emosaur That explains immigration XD
chrisCA · M
@Emosaur It seems to be reflected in their foreign policy.
Yes-I can think of a few kids I taught I could happily have shot. How long before a teacher loses it and shoots some kids?Only in America.
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
I don't know but I'll say the answer lies in fixing the root not the symptom
Let's assassinate trump!
FailedToFetch · 56-60, M
@MushroomFaerie Beware.. most people will not spot the irony. That reminds me of: Spot The Looney!

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=z_Nq3xuHkgE
@MushroomFaerie I'd never advocate assassinating anyone but America and the world would be a lot safer if nature intervened with an illness that made him retire.
@FailedToFetch what irony? Joke. If someone's gonna do it they're not gonna do it because of my comment here lol
Ridiculous. He’s still listening to the gun lobby. Most teachers don’t want to be armed. They’re not trying to be soldiers or police—they’re freaking teachers.
SW-User
Not more guns... but in the right places
OKWTF2 · 51-55, M
@SW-User with the right training of course. I speculate if obtaining requires a bit more and maybe better training the person conducing the training may also assist on making sure someone with no history but is 'troubled' could be found out. A bit more complex and as flawed as any other options, but worth considering I think.
FailedToFetch · 56-60, M
What if a teacher objects?
