It's impossible to screw up making mashed potatoes right

Sometimes I'm lazy and do the packs of it. Just add 2 cups of water. Once it was like not enough water at all. Just didn't look right. So I added another cup and look a lot better.

actually, easy to mess 'em up … warming 'em up in skillet could burn … pouring milk in that has already spoiled … putting in too much salt … forgetting to refrigerate the concoction after the meal [i](tomorrow's left-overs)[/i] … etc.

and the worst screw-up? using powder-potato or instant-milk … least that's my perspective.

in hindsight … i like mine with potato-skins inside the concoction … which introduces another variable … making sure the potatoes have been properly washed with stiff brush before cooking.

lol it's funny because I made some today. I thought the potato was soft enough but at was still hard in some areas. Usually the potatoes are soft after 30 minutes of boiling! I had very sad-looking mashed potatoes today xD

@terribleperson I'm all about the skin. They need to be totally mashed though, I'm not buying into this lumps malarkey.

Well, I managed the first time I made them. Just remember to drain the water off before you start mashing.

Okay. Then you're doing better than you trust yourself. It's possible to ruin it.
Oh no . I don't trust myself. I always have someone else taste test my food just in case I might have poisoned it.

I don't know how u ruin it? Add too much milk? That's the only thing I can think of
