What does the word "alsome" mean? It's not a word I learned in school and it's not in my dictionary.

It is, supposedly, the 'new' way of saying 'awesome'. The 'new' way, of course, rabidly-mocking any etymology!
@Faust76 No, no - sorry! All 'urban' dictionaries - and the likes - are going to be burned and those who reference them toasted on the flames like the deliciously-tasting hamburgers that they are! A variety of sauces will be provided and crates of beer for those who repeatedly say: "So, you think you are better than me??"

@EugenieLaBorgia Wait, that's a thing? Oh, Christ.
I thought it was just a regular book-burning.

Probably a joke question, but... #AlsoMe as in "also me" as in a popular meme for people taking pride in hypocricy or changing their mind.

I like that etymologically that sounds like "all" (everything) + "-some" (having the quality of - actually etymonline says "tending to; causing; to a considerable degree," as in 'wholesome' etc.). So "alsome" could also be semantically taken as meaning multifaceted or complicated, which gets uncomfortably close to it's meme usage.

Okay, time to 'fess up, I just can't find an appropriate meme for this :p

Although honestly I wonder what that means for etymology... On second reading I think every #alsome tag on Twitter probably is or could be read as "Also Me", but most of them (Any that don't explicitly follow the "Me: Also me:" meme or capitalize it as AlsoMe) could probably ALSO be read as awesome. In that case it would probably mean "I'm just as awesome, too" ;) #alsome

@KebleBollyJocksford Actually, language is never about logic. If I had to guess, maybe some celebrity accidentally wrote "alsome" when they meant awesome and it took off?

And I just sort of ret-conned it from "Also Me", but it seems "Also Me" meme came in 2015 while Urban Dictionary records the meaning awesome from 2003. So... aliens? Honestly, it doesn't have to make sense or we wouldn't have fridges (misspelled abbreviation of appliance brand) or cars (a bizarre shorthand of word originally meaning to run).

Not necessarily.Just thought that you might be more open to these changes if you had children or grandchildren.

It’s in the Urban Dictionary. Dopey way to say “awesome.”
