Had to teach a class this afternoon. Glad that shit is behind me. Just because I can speak well in front of groups doesnt mean i like to.

Far far the opposite. Only do it because I have to as part of my job. Anybody else good at doing stuff they hate ??

I hate speaking in front of groups of people....yet I was an attorney for years, and appeared in Court.

I get the same feeling if i have to take a training session.
All the prep. All the planning. Trying to cover 'what-if...?' scenarios.
Yet folk often say they enjoy the ones i do.
@Picklebobble2 I get the feeling your classes would be interesting, informative and fun. 🙂

@bijouxbroussard Well, i always look at it like this. If you can make it entertaining and subject focused, try to limit the 'jelly and ice-cream' games, since they make everyone uncomfortable.
and maybe have a laugh as you go, people don't worry so much about them and might later, even say they enjoyed them !

I waited tables and worked some retail for about twenty years. I was really good at it and was often rewarded with customer service awards. But I hated every single second of it. Lol.
@CanarysCry Same here. also waited tables for a long time. made good money and was good at it. freaking hated it with a passion. i did like some of my customers but some of them were insufferable. LOL

17 years of professional life,18 different jobs and 21 different fields, I still hope one day I'd find what I am best at doing.

I'm a barista. I make great coffee and smile at customers but I'm starting to hate it.

I hate teaching, but I'm good at it
The same. At one point my work involved training sales staff for our company in a classroom setting. I was very briefly a public school teacher, so I had to draw on that experience a bit to do it effectively. One of the salesmen, who became a close friend years later, said he would never have realized how stressful I found it; apparently it didn’t show. 🤔

I think I was pretty good at being a mailman when I had the job during summer holidays. At least they eagerly wanted me back. 😜
I dreaded the days I had to deliver advertisement leaflets on top of the usual mail.
